A native of Kulangyu, China, who later migrated to Manila, and is presently residing in Perth, Western Australia. He obtained his master's degree in music from the Westminster Choir College - U.S.A. Major in Choral conducting and voice. He is Conductor Emmeritus of the Union Church of Manila; served as the panel of judges at the International Bartok Choral Competition in 1982 Debrecin. Hungary; was awarded the founder's plaque of appreciation by the Cultural Center of the Philippines National Music Competition for Young Artists; was past president of The World Church Music Associaton. 

In Perth, he was the research adviser of the Frank Callaway International Resource Centre for Music Education at the University of Western Australia. His publications include Chinese Amoy Hymnal (edited); A New Theory of the Chinese Music, Basic Choral Conducting; 27 Lessons on Solffegio; 33 Folk Tune Solfeggio Lessons; A study on Boys Changing Voice; Sight Singing Methods 1,2,3 in VCD. Let The Children Sing Joyfully; The Growing Voice; 84 Lessons on Sight Singing.

Among his compositions include: Sermon Cantata: The Seven Last Words of Christ, Messiah My Savior, Bartimaeus' Cry. Children's Anthem Book; Let The Children Come Near; Lives Living Water; Lily; Come To Jesus. Anthem Book: The Lord is My Light; Your Faithfulness, The Love of God (A collection of solo pieces), The Christmas Story (edited), The Golden Key (Amoy Sacred Operetta), Esther (Amoy/Mandarin Sacred Operetta), Christmas and Nativity. He is at present, editor of Hua-Xia Chinese Hymnal. He is the Founder of Song-In Hymnmaster Foundation Inc. introduced hymn VCD and DVD.
